Wake Up with Soul Yoga Teacher, Jacob Graham

An Old Yoga Soul.

Jacob teaches in a way that becomes about connection and support. If you’re into getting assists (at Soul Yoga, reserving your Soul Space gives you that choice — no judgement either way), and if you are — it’s another way that Jacob connects. His hands-on assists are so natural, that it feels like he’s been doing it for 30 years.

Traditional assists are a lost art. Jacob moves around the room continuously throughout the practice. His steps are so soft, you can only lightly hear them. It’s a comforting sound, just knowing he’s nearby and ready to offer subtle assists to deepen poses and provide guidance on alignment or modifications.

His presence is just a beacon of comfort and positivity. He infuses each class with his light that leaves students feeling uplifted and inspired.

Meet Jacob, ya’ll.

Yoga Teacher and Soul Yoga Studio Manager, Jacob is dedicated to fostering connection, community, and authenticity in every class.

Step into one of Jacob’s yoga classes, and you'll immediately be greeted by his warm smile, which feels like an invitation to leave the world behind and get into your practice.

He is known for integrating intentional, yet heavy asana into his classes. With the ebb and flow of life, he encourages students to have a dialogue with themselves to understand what they need. To not worry about what you (or the person next to you) looks like, but to meet yourself authentically on the mat.

A Journey of Awakening

Yoga was an awakening for Jacob. It came into his life around the same time he was coming out, shaping not only his ability to live authentically but also his dedication to holding space for his students to do the same. This personal transformation has deeply influenced his teaching style, fostering an environment where everyone feels encouraged to embrace their true selves.

His Soul Flow is an intentionally planned, sweaty wakeup journey to yourself. Like slowly savoring a morning coffee — each pose and transition is a deliberate, mindful sip that gradually energizes and nurtures your spirit.

With playlists crafted in the same way, Jacob seamlessly matches the flow and intensity of the practice, building as you move, amplifying the connection between mind, body, and breath. It’s that coffee for the soul — wake it up!

Community Engagement

Beyond his regular classes, Jacob's impact reaches far and wide within the community. You might have heard of Taylor Swift? Well, Jacob has built quite a reputation for his sold-out Taylor-themed yoga nights.

He also joins Soul Yoga and other teachers in championing inclusivity through the monthly Soul Yoga Affinity Spaces. Jacob rotates teaching the LGBTQ+ affinity space, a community class, where individuals from from the LGBTQ+ community are invited to gather and practice yoga in a safe and supportive environment. These classes foster a sense of belonging and acceptance, reflecting Jacob’s and Soul Yoga’s commitment to making yoga accessible to everyone.

Jacob’s classes are more than just a physical practice; they are a celebration of authenticity, community, and personal growth. His light shines through every class, making your day brighter and your heart fuller.
