THE TEACHER LAB:
1:1 Mentorship
You finished teacher training. Now what?
Becoming a certified yoga teacher is just the beginning.
Learning how to sequence a class, cue postures, and understand yoga philosophy gives you a foundation—but becoming a confident, skilled, and sustainable yoga professional happens through experience. It happens when you teach the class that doesn't go according to plan. When you work with your first private client. When you have an idea for a workshop but aren't sure how to bring it to life. When you wonder what to charge, how to market yourself, or how to turn your passion for teaching into something sustainable.

That's where The Teacher Lab begins.
The Teacher Lab is a six-month, one-on-one mentorship created for yoga teachers who want individualized guidance as they develop their teaching, leadership, and professional path.
Instead of following a one-size-fits-all curriculum, we'll start with you—your teaching, your goals, your challenges, and the kind of yoga professional you want to become. Together, we'll create a personalized roadmap and spend six months putting it into practice.
We'll dream a little, get really clear, and then create a plan to make it happen.
DETAILS
-
The Teacher Lab is designed to bridge the space between learning how to teach yoga and actually building a life as a yoga teacher.
Throughout the six months, you'll have opportunities to teach, observe, assist, create, experiment, receive feedback, and make adjustments in real time.
Our private mentorship sessions may explore:
Refining your teaching voice and personal style
Sequencing, cueing, pacing, and classroom presence
Classroom management and navigating challenging situations
Building confidence as a teacher
Creating meaningful student experiences
Developing private yoga sessions
Creating workshops and specialty offerings
Building and growing your yoga business
Pricing and developing new revenue opportunities
Marketing yourself authentically
Developing your professional presence and resources
Setting boundaries and preventing burnout
Leadership and professional development
Creating short- and long-term career goals
Because this is a 1:1 mentorship, your experience will be shaped around the areas where you most want and need to grow.
-
You'll meet privately with your mentor Ylonda Rosenthal-Greene twice each month for six months, giving you consistent support while still having time between sessions to put what you're learning into practice.
These aren't lectures.
Bring your questions. Bring the class that didn't work. Bring the workshop idea written on a scrap of paper. Bring the business challenge you can't figure out. Bring the thing you're excited about but aren't sure you're ready to do.
We'll work through it together.
Your mentorship sessions provide space for coaching, problem-solving, feedback, planning, accountability, and professional development based on what's actually happening in your teaching and career.
-
Every teacher eventually has to move from teaching someone else's class format to asking:
What do I want to offer?
As part of The Teacher Lab, you'll develop a real teaching offering and have the opportunity to bring it into the community.
You'll choose to:
Teach two 60-minute Community Classes
OR
Create and teach one 2-hour workshop.
We'll work together on your concept, structure, teaching plan, student experience, and promotion. Then you'll teach it and receive personalized feedback.
You're not just talking about becoming a stronger teacher.
You're practicing becoming one.
-
Great teaching and a sustainable yoga career aren't always the same thing.
The Teacher Lab gives you space to explore the practical side of being a yoga professional, including business strategy, private clients, workshops, marketing, pricing, professional communication, and creating opportunities beyond a weekly studio schedule.
We'll look at where you are now, where you want to go, and what makes sense for your life.
You don't need to want a huge yoga business.
You simply need a professional path that feels sustainable, intentional, and aligned with what you want your teaching to become.
-
Growth happens between our meetings, too.
In addition to your mentorship and experiential hours, you'll complete independent Professional Practice & Development Hours throughout the six months.
Depending on your individual goals, these hours may include:
Teaching and class preparation
Reading and professional research
Reflection and self-evaluation
Workshop development
Private session planning
Business development
Marketing projects
Professional resource development
Implementing mentorship feedback
Goal setting and tracking
Developing future offerings
Think of these hours not as traditional homework, but as time intentionally invested in building your teaching and your career.
-
One of the most valuable ways to grow as a teacher is to have someone experienced watch you teach.
The Teacher Lab includes two classroom observations where Ylonda , owner/founder of Soul Yoga will observe your teaching and provide individualized feedback.
We'll look beyond whether you created a "good sequence" and explore the complete student experience—including your presence, communication, pacing, cueing, classroom management, adaptability, connection with students, and overall effectiveness.
The goal isn't perfection.
It's awareness, refinement, and growth.
-
Some things simply can't be learned from a manual.
You'll complete four hours of hands-on assisting experience, giving you an opportunity to deepen your understanding of bodies, movement, consent, communication, and appropriate touch within the classroom.
You'll gain practical experience while developing greater confidence in when, why, and how to offer meaningful support to students.
